The Shri Gurudatt Math.
( Formerly, The Jai Girnari Manav Seva Gau Seva Ashram Trust.)
The Shri Gurudatt Math is located on a beautiful hill near Kuvadva Village, on the outskirts of Rajkot City in Gujarat, India.
An exquisite marble Mandir, dedicated to Bhagwan Shri Gurudattatreya has been built at the Shri Gurudatt Math.
The Pran Pratishtha Ceremony of a 9 foot marble Murti ( Idol of a Diety ), of Bhagwan Shri Gurudattatreya will take place on 3, 4, 5, July, 2026.
The Pran Pratishtha Ceremony consecrates a Murti, transforming it from an inert carved idol of marble or stone, into a living embodiment of the Divine Presence.
H. H. Yati Shri Brahmdevji Maharaj is the Founder of The Shri Gurudattatreya Math.He was born on April 27, 1955, in Mangrol Village, Gujarat. His father was Shri Balubhai Bhimabhai Makwana and His mother was Shantama. He has 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
When He was 6 days old, a dog picked Him up and ran away. His sisters raised an alarm and it was found that the dog had miraculously deposited the child outside a Gurudattatreya Mandir nearby !
The family was deeply religious and all Hindu rites and rituals were faithfully carried out at their home. The family Guru was Shri Patal Bapu, of Girnar. He was a revered disciple of Gurudattatreya. ( Girnar is a sacred mountain where Gurudattatreya is believed to reside eternally.)
As a householder, Yati Shri Brahmdevji Maharaj had 4 children, 2 sons and 2 daughters. After the children were settled, Brahmdevji Maharaj, along with His eldest daughter, Shri Balamba Deviji, established The Jai Girnari Manav Seva Gau Seva Ashram Trust at Kuvadva, Rajkot, dedicated to Bhagwan Shri Gurudattatreya.
Many welfare activities are carried out at the Ashram, a community kitchen is open 24 hours, a Gau Shala ( Shelter for cows ) has many famous "Gir" cows.
There is also an Akhand Dhuna ( eternal sacred fire). The fire was ceremoniously brought here from the Akhand Dhuna at Girnar, where it has been burning continuously for centuries.
Yati Shri Brahmdevji Maharaj and Shri Balamba Deviji have immense spiritual knowledge which they share with their devotees and guide them on the right path. All religious festivals are enthusiastically celebrated, and the Ashram is a vibrant, joyful place brimming with spiritual energy.
One day, Yati Shri Brahmdevji Maharaj, and His daughter Shri Balamba Deviji went on a pilgrimage to Dwarka. They had darshan of the ( Late) Mathadhishwar and Dwarka Shardapithadishwar Ananta Shri Vibhushita, H.H. Jagat Guru Shankaracharya Swami Swarupanand Saraswatiji Maharaj.
They informed Him about their devotion for Bhagwan Shri Gurudattatreya, and the Ashram near Kuvadva Village. Shankaracharyaji recognised the spark of divinity in them, and bestowed the titles of Yati Shri Brahmdevji Maharaj, and Shri Balamba Deviji, and made them His honoured disciples.
He also advised them to build a Mandir, and install a Murti of Bhagwan Shri Gurudattatreya. That is how The Shri Gurudatt Math was established on December 19, 2019
A magnificent Mandir with a Shikhar ( summit ) in the shape of a "Shri Yantra" is now completed, and a 9 foot Murti of Bhagwan Shri Gurudattatreya has been installed.
Note: A Shri Yantra has a complex mathematical design with 9 interlocking triangles and 24 lotus petals, enclosed in a square ( the Bhupura ), with 4 L shaped gates. It has a Bindu ( dot ) in the centre.
The Shri ( auspicious), Yantra ( instrument), is a sacred instrument which brings prosperity, peace, harmony into our lives.
The Shri Yantra is worshipped in many Mandirs, and also in homes.
The Shri Gurudatt Math is one of the few Mandirs in India which has The Shri Yantra as a Shikhar and this auspicious Symbol will surely bring peace and prosperity to all who come here.
The Pran Pratishtha Ceremony of the Shri Gurudatt Math will now be performed by the Divine Hands of the current Shankaracharyaji, H. H. Jagat Guru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Sadananda Saraswatiji Maharaj.
All devotees are invited to participate in this joyous celebration, on 3, 4, 5, July, 2026.
Jai Gurudatt !
